Terms of Business

These terms set out the basis on which BuildRight Accountants ("we", "us") provides services to clients. They apply alongside the specific engagement letter agreed with each client, which takes precedence over these general terms where the two differ.

Who we are

BuildRight Accountants, 72 St James Road, Blackburn, BB1 8ET. Our founder, Rehan Razzaq, is ACCA qualified (FCCA) and the firm operates in accordance with ACCA's rulebook, including its Code of Ethics and Conduct.

Scope of services

We provide CIS returns, VAT (including domestic reverse charge) compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, annual accounts, self-assessment, cash flow forecasting and company formation services for construction industry businesses. The specific services we provide to you will be set out in your individual engagement letter.

Client responsibilities

To deliver our services accurately and on time, we rely on you to provide complete and accurate information promptly when requested, and to notify us of any changes to your circumstances that may affect our work.

Fees and payment

Fees are agreed with each client individually before work begins and are set out in your engagement letter or quote. Invoices are payable promptly upon receipt, in line with the terms agreed with you. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Professional standards and indemnity insurance

We hold professional indemnity insurance in line with ACCA's requirements for member firms. Details of our insurer are available on request.

Confidentiality and data protection

We treat all client information as confidential and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. We will not disclose your information to third parties except where required to deliver our services, by law, or with your consent.

Anti-money laundering

As a firm regulated for anti-money laundering purposes, we are required to carry out client due diligence checks before starting work, and to report certain matters to the relevant authorities where required by law, regardless of client confidentiality.

Limitation of liability

Our liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to a reasonable amount reflecting the nature and value of the work carried out, except where liability cannot be excluded or limited by law. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us.

Ending the engagement

Either party may end the engagement by giving reasonable written notice. Fees for work completed up to the date of termination remain payable.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with our service, please contact us in writing at info@buildrightaccountant.co.uk in the first instance, and we'll aim to resolve the matter promptly. If we're unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you have the right to refer it to ACCA.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
